About Us
ALMOS is the brain child of a group of old students who continued to feel connected to the institution many years after leaving school and dreamt to associate with it in some way. The school had started functioning in the early seventies and the first batch of students passed out of this institution in 1983. Many attempts had been made earlier to form an alumni association but the decision to form a formal platform finally took shape in the grand get-together organized in 2019, which had brought together students from the batches of 1983 to 2000.
We, the members of ALMOS, are fortunate to have been a small part of this wonderful school. Many a great mind had acted as the leading lights in our formative years, when our character, integrity, outlook and attitude were being fashioned. We cherish those years like the splendid, beautiful and delicate petals of the gulmohar. The school had focused on overall development of the students, with the seamless mix of academics and extra-curricular activities. We owe to our teachers who were dedicated experts in their respective subjects and were talented, committed and genuinely caring, and who made us believe that we could make a difference.
Our Aim
ALMOS aims to initiate a focused effort to support the goals set by the school. ALMOS encourages you to support economically deficient students in their pursuit of good education and to provide a healthy environment for the social and cultural development of all the students of this school, by conducting seminars and awareness campaigns on the various prospects in education, research and self- employment and by establishing endowments and scholarships. You can reach out to the society at large, by providing social and economic assistance to its needy and weaker sections. You can also strive to promote equality and harmony among its members and work for their cultural and social welfare. As a gesture of appreciation for the good things you have received in life, you can try to give back to the less privileged around you by engaging in legally viable charitable activities. And as alumni of Lourdes Mount English School, you shall endeavor to support the school administration through ALMOS, whenever they need your assistance.
The school had provided you with numerous educational opportunities and it was probably instrumental in your success. So whether you sign up for membership, send a generous donation, establish award scholarships to deserving students or offer to serve as a mentor, there are many ways that ALMOS can help you to help your school.
Let our dream, the ALMOS, take wings and fly
The stronger the alumni network, the greater the impact. The power of an alumni association is when its members come together, dream together and build together. Anyone who had studied at least one academic year in Lourdes Mount English School and has completed 21 years of age can become a member of ALMOS by submitting duly filled in and signed application form, along with the registration fee of Rs. 500/- (Rupees Five Hundred only) and yearly subscription fee of Rs. 200/- (Rupees Two Hundred only). You also have the option of paying a one-time Life Membership fee of Rs 3000/- (Rupees Three thousand only), in lieu of the annual subscription.
So, if you are eligible to be a member, we urge you to join the association, network with your classmates and interact with the great alumni from your school. Let the coming together under this banner of ALMOS be for a cause, to contribute to the society at large and to be there for each other.
